Sik Gaek

If you want to put something slimy, chewy, and alive into your mouth, then head on over to Sik Gaek in Woodside and get a once in a lifetime experience. This Korean restaurant takes their promise of serving the freshest seafood rather seriously with some of the main fare still squirming when they reach your table.

Sik Gaek does not care much for the restaurant's decor, but that does not mean they do not serve yummy food. For the adventurous, you can try the live octopus. You dip it in soy sauce and watch it squirm as you devour it. Or you can cook it with vegetables, garlic and chili pepper to make it more palatable.

Sik Gaek also offers several kinds of hot pot, soup, and other kinds of seafood for those who want their food cooked.

Toloache

Craving for Mexican dishes? Then head on to Toloache for some guacamoles, spicy hamachi, taquitos, or ensaladas to start. Then have a taco and top it all off with a margarita. They also serve brunch items.

But if you want something new, how about getting a grasshopper taco? If you do not look at it, you would not even know you are eating insects in your taco. The only thing that would give it away is that it is crunchy, quite unlike beef.

Golden Shopping Mall

People go to the Golden Shopping Mall for the Chinese merchandise that they can find there. If you are in the vicinity you might want to visit the food stalls there too where you can have a taste of the weird but delicious Chinese delicacies. Some of the dishes you would find here are spicy pig ears, chicken feet, duck neck, oxtail tripe, and noodles with all sorts of animal parts floating in the broth.

OddFellows Ice Cream Co.

If you think about it, fatty goose or duck liver is not normal fare, not just because it is liver but also because it is expensive. Now enter OddFellows Ice Cream Co., which is known for being overly creative with their flavors. They came up with foie gras ice cream. You might want to call ahead though, it is not always available and it is limited to one cup per guest. If you feel icky about eating cold foie gras, you will want to order the safer flavors: cornbread, PB and J, lemon meringue, vanilla bean, and chocotorta. They also have special rotating flavors that they prepare in small batches.

Haandi

Care to indulge your inner zombie? Human brains may be off the menu at Haandi, but they have a delicious alternative: lamb brains. If you are feeling less adventurous, you can get the beef masala, goat curry, seafood, or any of the chicken dishes that they have on the menu.
