Darien Lake Theme Park


Visit New York's largest theme park and you can be sure to have a blast! There are six steep coasters including the Ride of Steel, which is known to have the highest drop in New York State, and The Mind Eraser, which is NY's only suspended looping coaster! It also boasts of the SplashTown Water Park, with its twisty water slides, live shows, carnival style games, and nightly fireworks and laser shows.

Darien Lakes State Park


Since we are in Darien Lakes, you might as well make a stop at the Darien Lakes State Park. It is a vast area with a varied terrain, including woodlands, hills, streams, ravines, and the 12-acre Harlow Lake. You can build camp in one of the park's 158 campsites, play golf, frolic by the sandy beach, hit the playgrounds, go fishing, hike, go horseback riding, and have a picnic.

Genesee Country Farmers' Market


If you will need some fresh produce during your trip, make a stop at the Genesee Country Farmers' Market on 8315 Park Road, in Batavia. It offers everything locally grown and made, from fruits, eggs, flowers, vegetables to jellies and jams, baked goods, honey, cheeses, maple products, coffees, soaps, and wine.


The market is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. every Tuesday and Friday from June to October.

Iroquois National Wildlife Refuge


Known as New York State's largest wildlife refuge, the Iroquois National Wildlife Refuge is a haven for animals. Located on 1101 Casey Road, in Basom, it boasts well-maintained trails and it sits in the migratory path of many bird species, including geese and swans. It is open all year round and offers a wide variety of activities like fishing, hunting, hiking, canoeing, snow-shoeing and cross-country skiing.

Pudgie's Lawn & Garden Center


Pudgies greenhouse is where you can find vegetable plants, annuals, perennials, roses, nursery products and other garden supplies. So if you have a green thumb, be sure to drop by this garden center, located at 3646 West Main Street in Batavia.

Stafford Museum of History


Make some time for a little bit of history by touring the Stafford Museum. In here you can see 19th century household furnishing, farm implements, quilts and one-room school house records. You can also check out the Morganville Pottery and see the collection of Redware pottery that were created in the late 1800's.


The museum, located at 8903 Route 237 in Stafford is open from April to October, on Sundays, Tuesdays and Thursdays from 2-4 p.m.

Darien Lake's SplashTown Water Park


Now this is another place the kids will surely love. SpashTown at Darien is said to be New York's largest theme park. It is a 5-acre water park that boasts of 11 wet and wild attractions that include water slides, a wave pool, a pirate ship lagoon playground, and a lazy river. Dewitt Recreation Area


Dewitt Recreation Area is a 63-acre property where you can do a variety of outdoor activities like biking, fishing, canoeing, hiking, ice skating, and cross country skiing. There are also picnic shelters if you wish to have a picnic as well as a playground for the little ones.

Genesee County Park & Interpretive Center


Why not visit the oldest county forest in New York State? Genesee County Park and Interpretive Center is 431 acres of rolling hills with well-maintained trails, self-guided hiking, playgrounds, picnic pavilions, and a toboggan hill, all complete with the necessary amenities.
